I have probably 20 hours in this game now, these missions are annoying but it's not that bad. Fail maybe 1 a day, and just do it again and move on
I used to like difficult games growing up. Felt like it was something worth playing for. If it's too easy, what's the point of just running through the game without any obstacles...
I like difficulty, and I love stealth, but I really, really don't enjoy insta-fail stealth. Having the enemy react and start hunting you is half the fun.
Yeah, insta-fail is just lazy design. Becoming undetected again is fun.
To be clear, you can run away and hide. The only times I've been insta caught are when a guard is inches from me, facing me, because wtf is my character going to do with a blaster rifle in her face, she's just a smuggler not a jedi
But typically, when a guard sees you from afar they go yellow and walk in your direction, checking out the disturbance and you have a split second to find cover or get away. If you fail to then yes you're caught.
To be fair I am yet to understand why a restricted area means I can't use my pistol, but I can sneak up on them and take them out with melee...or have Nix attack them and using one of the upgrade abilities have them shoot wildly during that and thus kill their own buddy next to them, and that's fine? Why couldn't I pull out my own pistol and ice them both myself
That's true.
You get to enjoy the story in its fullest without forced breaks that get you out of it.
And you get to do cool stuff without having to worry about failing and having to start over.
Having to do the same thing over and over until you beat it is incredibly boring.
That is the point of an easy difficulty. It is fun and quick.
Yeah I can understand if you play it for the story, then it's annoying to not be able to continue easily. Good point.
Is it worth it to buy new? I'm a huge Star Wars fan but the reviews made it sound very lackluster, like an Ubisoft open world game that was slightly stripped down and a SW skin slapped on it.
I dont understand the "Ubisoft Game" comments, it is nothing like AC or Farcry. Is it super complex? No. Is it a large and beautifully detailed world? Absolutely. The story is stellar, loving it so far and still not done. The worlds and environments are fantastic. Would I buy it at the moment? Only if you are a big Star Wars fan, otherwise its entirely single player, you're not missing out if you wait for a sale in a little while
Are there towers to climb to reveal the map?
Not a single one, map points are discovered and marked as you approach them, otherwise they are question marks on your compass and nothing else, the map itself is empty until you fill it in
Okay, just as long as you don't have to play a climbing mini game every time you want to expand the map.
Thank you. First real person take I've read, appreciated.
