Oh man. RIP Toys R Us. I hope who ever bought/buys your branding makes good use of it.

The Toys R Us in my area has just been sitting there unused to this day since they shut down. The sign is still up. Every now and then driving by, I see TRU trucks in the parking lot. They recently put up a big fence around it, and I thought maybe they were gonna be remodeling or something, but at this point I think it was just to keep people out since there was usually people hanging out in the parking lot after dark.

I also know of a depot of some kind down south of me a ways that is just filled with TRU branded truck trailers. I can't help but wonder if someone is holding onto all the signage, some buildings and the trucks to try and restart the company somehow. Cuz after all this time, I would have thought all that stuff would be repurposed.

TBF the company chairmen did try to keep the company alive to the last moment. They even filed in court for an extension before their bankruptcy with a bounty attached for the CEOs to keeping the company alive. I remember it was actually considered a scandal at the time "the company is dying and they want to pay themselves a huge bonus?"
