Theoretically, the injection thing would be best. But considering those things get administered by absolute idiots, a firing squad is probably better.
Nitrogen asphyxiation is supposed to be a not-horrible way to go but there's no way most countries that have/allow capital punishment can be arsed to provide for "good deaths" for those condemned to death.
The only state that appears to currently permit firing squad as an option for prisoners in non-exceptional circumstances is South Carolina:
