There's a site called Public Square that is a dog whistle for like minded MAGA Nazis to find businesses that share their fascistic beliefs. I propose everyone find their local Nazi businesses and let folks know on mainstream review sites where their money should go instead. I'm getting some friends in on it too. Obligatory "make a throwaway account with a fake email to do so" notice here.

I found it ironic to see the financial advisors that list themselves there. Of course conservatives won't understand that irony

You don't have to call it nazis or fascist, enough people around the globe dislike Trump.

I get why you call it that, but it doesn't shift people to act as you want to. I get this is Lemmy, buy if you want factual, number based change you call it differently, ideological/morally you end up with the vocabulary in your post. Do you want to stand up for your ideals or change the world?

I get what you're trying to say, that using the words fscist or nazi will turn people off. The people who want to use the site know the type of regime Trump has. Trying to be cute and playing word games by calling a fascist supporter just ideological different is wildly disingenuous.

Gee, what's a nice word for fascist? Far right extremist? At that point aren't we just splitting hairs?

You don't get it. It shows how limited your view is.

Let's try "businesses supporting faux based tarrif economics".

Yeah that will really hit them where it hurts.

Its about the approach. Not about this post specific, but in general. So dense

So dense

Indeed, those of you who refuse to call a Nazi a Nazi really are

Did calling Nazi Germans Nazi stop anything?

[–] Retreaux@lemmy.world 3 points 2 months ago

Did appeasement? A quick search reveals that no, appeasement, normalization, and procrastination helped contribute to the success of the Holocaust. Pussyfooting around the issue just emboldens them.

THIS take makes me think your whole thread is just trolling.

Insulting people is a terrible way to try to convince people of your perspective anyways. Regardless of any point you're making it is an infantile approach to intelligent discussion.

If you want to help and not just be a naysayer, show examples so the rest of us can see what it is that you're trying to get across.

That's why I said "I get this is Lemmy". You are calling to action, and trying to make a difference on Lemmy is pretty much preaching to the choir. And if not, you might win 3.5 souls. That's why I said "Stand up for your ideals or change the world'
