Welcome to c/news! Please read the Hexbear Code of Conduct and remember... we're all comrades here.
Rules:
-- PLEASE KEEP POST TITLES INFORMATIVE --
-- Overly editorialized titles, particularly if they link to opinion pieces, may get your post removed. --
-- All posts must include a link to their source. Screenshots are fine IF you include the link in the post body. --
-- If you are citing a twitter post as news please include not just the twitter.com in your links but also nitter.net (or another Nitter instance). There is also a Firefox extension that can redirect Twitter links to a Nitter instance: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/libredirect/ or archive them as you would any other reactionary source using e.g. https://archive.today/ . Twitter screenshots still need to be sourced or they will be removed --
-- Mass tagging comm moderators across multiple posts like a broken markov chain bot will result in a comm ban--
-- Repeated consecutive posting of reactionary sources, fake news, misleading / outdated news, false alarms over ghoul deaths, and/or shitposts will result in a comm ban.--
-- Neglecting to use content warnings or NSFW when dealing with disturbing content will be removed until in compliance. Users who are consecutively reported due to failing to use content warnings or NSFW tags when commenting on or posting disturbing content will result in the user being banned. --
-- Using April 1st as an excuse to post fake headlines, like the resurrection of Kissinger while he is still fortunately dead, will result in the poster being thrown in the gamer gulag and be sentenced to play and beat trashy mobile games like 'Raid: Shadow Legends' in order to be rehabilitated back into general society. --
My sibling used to live in a rural area with a gun range a mile or two away and said there were frequent posts asking if anyone had heard it.
Finally...now we can get such riveting articles like "Was That A Gunshot?", "Anybody Just Hear A Gunshot?" and "Was That Fireworks or A Gunshot?"
my local subreddit?
Why are there always planes over my house? I live right next to the airport btw
WATCH OUT:
I saw a latino walking near my car through my doorbell camera. He didn't do anything but why is he in our neighborhood?
Nextdoor is 50% lost pet posts and 50% Totally Real™ conversations Your Neighbors® are having about their new [walk-in tub/gutter system] that they totally just had installed. I'm sure pumping it full of even more hyperlocal copganda, for our local busybodies to comment the most racist shit imaginable on, will round it out nicely!
Help! I lost my pet at night in an area well-known to have coyotes roaming around, let me know if you find them! By the way I lost them 5 years ago but I’m posting it now for some reason.
Was that a gunshot? Anybody hear the gunshot? Posted from my iPhone 7/4
Dangerous looking ~~black~~ suspicious individual outside walking menacingly, keep your doors locked folks
Crakkkers on next door when they see a PoC in their neighborhood
I already have my local Facebook group, I don't need another thing you just described
The "what are those Black kids doing" app?
I signed up a while ao.
What I expected: Constant racist paranoia
What I got: Constant posts about coyotes
there are local news providers?
They're mouthpieces for whatever coalition of ruling families exist in a given area. Those people don't need fucking Nextdoor.
The company announced a partnership Tuesday with more than 3,500 local news providers who will regularly contribute material to the app.
You're right to be paranoid. That brown child you posted about walking down the street was trying to rob you and murder your family.
I hate this site, racist watchdog, sound the alarm, who is in the neighborhood reporting forum.
such a trash ass app.. almost 0 redeeming value
It's fun to shitpost on there at least
