For some reason this made me think up the bizarre concept of furries doing settlerism somewhere so they can advance their culture 24/7 as a furry ethnostate.

I've been around in it long enough to see the migration patterns. In the past two decades or so, it has gone from Orlando to Atlanta to Seattle and Denver. The tech bros in the fandom remain in Seattle, but there's been flight out of Seattle for non-tech back to other areas.

Purely anecdotally, I don't see a lot of congregation into a specific place, but I've seen a fair number move back to the east coast.
