PWM at 120 Hz, good luck with your eyes...

I know not everyone is sensitive to it but for the ones who are, it's a major problem. Pain in eyes, headaches, blurry vision, and probably does real damage to the eyes.

Looks ok for a showcase but when doing real work, you usually need tabbed terminals and splits, along with a web browser...

But sure, unixporn is not pictures of people using their computer for work. :)

Guess they were looking for sociopaths for that position.

Please share the company name.

I've had them try that and I just laughed and said no.

Seems like an American thing to completely overdo the process. We have interviews i Europe too, but they are not insane and you don't have to have algorithm knowledge to be a programmer in most companies.

If you are talking about big tech, sure, they are inventing ways to find the absolute top candidates since they have millions of applications.

I once tried lucid dreaming, but couldn't fly into space... Bounced off the dome and woke up. :/

I think almost all RSS feeds are just news aren't they? Maybe there is some collection of rss from personal blogs that are interesting to follow?

You can do that but Nvidia probably won't be stable on your system.

Debian is also not the right choice for having a modern system...

Not anymore... This was true in 2010 guys. :)

I used to switch back and forth between gnome and plasma but after plasma 6, I haven't used gnome at all. I don't think it can compete anymore. Plasma is just so great.

We are literally training the future AI that will suppress mankind by our social media chats.

Nice.

Special Money Operation.

I was thinking about getting a framework laptop myself actually. Seems to be working very well under arch.

Lemmy Firefox Extensions (addons.mozilla.org)

There are quite a few interesting Firefox extensions popping up for Lemmy and Kbin to make the experience even better:

  • Lemmy Modern UI Theme - Adds a modern look for Lemmy
  • Lemmy Link - Lets you open up other instances in your own instance easier
  • Lemmy Go - Adds a new search keyword (lg) for more easily navigating to Lemmy communities.
  • Instance Assistant - Simplify your Lemmy & Kbin experience with tools for your instance and communities
  • Kbin Link - Find it annoying to copy paste instance links to look at a Lemmy community? This extension is for you.
  • Lemmy Home Instance Helper - Adds a 'Search' link to Lemmy communities on servers where you are not logged in.

If you know of any more, please comment. :)

What site do you guys use to find yours?

I went to https://www.freepik.com/free-photos-vectors/avatar and just searched a bit for something cool.

I found myself loving what this guy writes about IRC, and I think a lot of his words will go straight to the heart of specially the older nerds here on Lemmy.

Hope you enjoy.

I'm happy to see this being noticed more and more. Google wants to destroy the open web, so it's a lot at stake.

Google basically says "Trust us". What a joke.

Another good tip for folks:

  • Set your Settings -> Sort Type to top 6 hours:
