It's not racist to be aware of the fact that the US supported the Taliban after the fall of the Mujaheddin.

The Taliban were US-backed and US-funded long before 9/11.

One of the lessons of 2016 is that running a historically unpopular center-right candidate is an easy way to lose to Trump.

Another lesson is that a candidate who skates through the primaries on arguments of electability and "it's their turn" end up being poor candidates in the general election.

Maybe we could learn the lesson that chastising and berating anyone left of center does not win you votes, instead it supresses turnout. It is plain stupidity to go around treating leftists with contempt and hostility but then still expect us to vote lockstep with you.

Sadly it seems the DNC did not learn any lessons, because it's making the same awful mistakes that led directly to President Trump.

So the entire crux of your argument comes down to your opinion about how voters will react? And your opinion is that opposing genocide is pure stupidity?

Here is the citation you requested: Joe Biden keeps repeating his false claim that he saw pictures of beheaded babies

  1. Stop giving billions of dollars of weapons for free to a country actively committing genocide.

  2. Stop spreading false Israeli propaganda ("40 beheaded babies", "only democracy in the middle east", "human shields" etc)

  3. When Israel commits war crimes on camera, criticize them publically instead of running defense for them.

  4. Call up Netanyahu and tell him that, if he continues this war, the US will withdraw support for Israel. If it worked for Reagan, why can't it work for Biden?

One of the main guarantees of the US-led world order is that the Straight of Hormuz will stay open for commerce. The fact that the Houthis can shut it down is a huge blow to US hegemony.

In the modern age of drone warfare, US aircraft carriers are a liability. Sure, we can send in the USS Medical Bankruptcy carrier strike group and launch a few million dollar missiles, but the blockade stays in place.

There seems to be only two options to stop this blockade: End the genocide, or invade Yemen in a war against the Houthis. Genocide Joe can't afford to start a middle east war in an election year, so this tit-for-tat will continue into the near future.

yeah, shame on them for opposing an active genocide.

What a brave man.

I didn't realize a stroke could cause symptoms like clinical depression and thirst for the blood of innocent Palestinian children.

Thankfully we have John Fetterman here to normalize these things for us!

Sanctions are just a tool, they can be used for good things (as you mentioned) but also bad things.

I think sanctions against Russia for its invasion of Ukraine are valid. I think sanctions against Cuba are unjustifiable and a crime against humanity. I think sanctions against North Korea are justified given the actions of the Kim regime. But the sanctions also perpetuate the problem by punishing and isolating the innocent NK populace.

Sanctions are an act of war, they should never be used lightly.

Also using sanctions, no matter how valid the reason, has been shown to significantly deteriorate human rights in the targeted country.

This feels very relatable.

In my early 20s I went through a medical bankruptcy. Now in my late 30s I still have not financially recovered.

It feels set in stone now, I will never be able to afford a family. Or a home. Or a retirement.

What will happen when I'm no longer able to work, and my parents money dries up? Disability doesn't cover rent. Seems like my choices are homelessness or suicide.

Therapy and compassion are nice and helpful (and too scarce) - but the core issue is MONEY

Holding the majority is meaningless if you can't use it
