It is new. 0.0.36 worked find on 0.17.4. There was just the update message. Now the app just crashes on start.

Home page keeps showing me Local/Active instead of Subscribed/New in c/jerboa@lemmy.ml

If you have it installed via the Play Store you can't update apps via downloading a new version from github. Google signs their apps with a different certificate and Android then blocks the update.
