Just listening to some good old stuff when I realised that it was 30 years ago that our very own Monty Don was immortalised on the cover of this masterpiece. He hasn't aged a bit - it's all that outside work and vegetables, no doubt.

I did try to copy/paste the list into a different community but it gave me an error. It took ages so I'm not trying that again.

This is a grumbling/cheering/commiserating thread for a beautiful looking friday in February.

What are you up to?

What songs are currently playing on repeat in your head?

I've been having this Japanese-language song to a famous anime playing in my head so much it woke me up at 3:50am this morning. I'm not mad - angry - I love the song but it's less than optimal!

What's yours? Maybe sharing it will stop it!

I read the book 20yrs ago and it is THE best book I've ever read. Absolutely stunning story and characters. My dad almost chose to give me the name of the main character (Toranaga) which for an English person would have been a bit silly.

But anyway - I was so excited by the book I read the last page. It basically summed up what I thought would be the climax of the story in a single paragraph.

"Oh shit" - I thought. "Then WTF is the book about?!".

Oooooooohh let me tell you: It's a classic case of "the journey is better than the destination" - i.e. fucking incredible!

Produced and starring Hiroyuki Sanada (Last samurai, Wolverine, Twilight Samurai, etc).

This turned me into a weeaboo that at 21 jumped off my bed swishing an imaginary katana like a nutter.

WATCH IT! Out 27th of February!

It's loosely based on John Blackthorne the English sailor of a ship that wrecked in Japan. AKA: Anjin-san (Mr Pilot)

Reviews so far look epic: https://screenrant.com/shogun-show-reviews-reactions-fx/

And I'm happy as a pig in shit. It's only a Xiaomi Mi 10T Pro 5G but it's all mine and the screen doesn't die after 10 seconds of use due to water damage!!!

You can bet I've already installed 3 meme apps before giving up and just posting this image collage.

I don't have much good in my life so I'll take this win and hug it to death! 😍

Love you all! ❤️😘🏳️‍🌈

I've been working my way through the BBC series The Cows Are Mad. It's a ten-part mini-series that tries to shed some light on the BSE/vCJD stuff from the 80s and 90s.

You'z?

Herzog is a truly odd ball man, with a ridiculous turn of phrase that makes everything he says a wild ride.

Highly recommend listening to this.

When I was a kid, me and my beavers group got into the local paper because we did something.

I've got no idea what we did, but we got printed and as a 7 year old that was pretty huge.

Life never got better.

How is the little lad ever going to own his own home if he's already eating Avocado?

Pretty poor parenting if you ask me.

…and just the fact that it existed.

It was literally just puppets dancing to pop music.

I don’t know how to stop dwelling on this.

I'll start: Greggs is massively overrated. I genuinely don't understand how people hype it.

Edit: this is a casual community so it would be great if we could avoid politics lest it descend into chaos!
