Original Title: TIL the term Three-peat is trademarked and owned by Pat Riley who was the coach of the Lakers in the 80s when they were attempting for a three-peat in 1989 but didn't win it. The Jordan Bulls did get a three-peat in 1993 and Riley made royalties off of apparel using the term.
