I went on a dinner date yesterday. It went really well and we both got along swimmingly. She even said at the end of the date that it was one of her best dates in recent memory. The bill came and I reached into my pocket for the wallet and she said 'No, I'm getting this one'. I said nah stop playing and I got my wallet out but she grabbed the bill quickly before I could get it and used her card.

I was absolutely shocked. In my 10+ years of dating, a woman has never paid the bill on a first date. They usually do the fake purse grab or whatever and I don't care personally. I'm a traditionalist in that sense; more than happy to pay the bill. BUT, she actually made sure that she paid for it and we went back to my place. What a great day!

Not including insurance or gas/maintenance whatever, $800+ a month just in a car payment? My first and only car I was paying $310 a month and even that seemed a little high, how are you affording $800 + all the expenses?

For me this is Star Wars Battlefront 2 2005 Classic. I have fond memories of playing it with my dad around 10 or 11 years ago. It strikes joy in my heart each time I boot it up and play! Me and him used to boot it up on our PlayStation 2, and would sit down and play it for hours. We'd do Galactic Conquest, Instant Action, and the Campaign. All we had so much fun with!

I am single and childless and have heard from friends, family, and strangers on the internet alike about having a kid to fix a broken marriage. One of my friends was the "marriage fixer uper baby"

If you both know the marriage is shit. Why have a kid try and fix it? Kids are not easy. You think two people who range from out of love to hatred are gonna be in love while stressed/removing from a baby?

Just....WHY

For example: How does superman get a haircut? Or wolverines body weight plus the weight of his adamantium skeleton must wear out a lot of his shoes faster

One of my friend has started seeing this 28yo man she met on Tinder. So far he has been really nice and respectful but I don't know there is something very unsettling about a grown up man dating a teen.

Like she is still a student and he literally has a full time job and his own apartment. She keeps trying to reassure me by saying that he is not grooming her and that she is more mature than most people our age so she can't find any compatible man in our age range. But still, why do you even put the age range under 20 on a dating app when you're more than 25... that is really suspicious to me.

What do you think? Should I stop bothering her or keep trying to get her out of this weird relationship?

When you pee at the urinal, are you supposed to aim for the urinal cake on the bottom or do you aim higher on the urinal and rely on the principles of trickle down economics? I seem to incur a similar amount of splash-back between both strategies, so I just wanted to confirm.

Unfortunately I’m in my late 20s so I fear it’s too late to ask anyone I know.

For example, we hear a lot that Japans population is decreasing. Why is that a bad thing? It means old people are dying faster than new people are born, its not like young people are dying. If anything i think it shows that the country has reached its population peak which is super good news.

Today I was hanging with some friends on a bus when this guy started racist stuff trying to rile me up clearly. Im a very calm guy unless you touch me, so I didn’t give a shit. He called me a bitch, I called him a bitch back, and that was the end of it. At the end of the bus ride my friend asked why I let myself get bitched around by that guy, which I didn’t understand because I called him a bitch back, he never touched me and I genuinely thought he just sounded dumb (however he did call me a bitch right after I called him a bitch so maybe that’s why, but I didn’t really give a shit) the bus ride went on and him and his 3 friends were being racist but I didn’t care. Im thinking now maybe I’ve lost a little respect for letting him talk like that. My motto was always outsmart people until they touch you, then beat their ass. However maybe I need to reevaluate. Thoughts?

I turned 21 recently and went to the bar for the first time. When I got there and saw the drink menu, I was kinda overwhelmed and had no idea what to order.

Based on what my friends told me, I ended up going with a classic gin and tonic. It ended up being pretty good, but I wonder if this is a common experience for people going to bars for the first time? How did you handle your early bar visits, and what do you recommend for someone like me who's new to drinking?

Is it food quality? Healthcare? Wearing shoes inside?

What commonly-held misconception or stereotype bothers you most?

Greed has always happened, but if you were a straight white man, wages were decent. At least to my understanding. So what happened?

Like there are memes about 'no body wants to work because we pay you 10$ an hour or some shit' But it's like why don't companies pay more? If it's greed that wouldn't make sense because greedy people in the past would have done the same thing.

I think the polished acrylic nails that are so long that you cannot functionally use your hands are ridiculous and not attractive in the least. I also cannot get beyond the yuck factor for all the gross gunk that I knows gets underneath nails. Does anyone actually think they are attractive?

I'm asking interested in men's opinions particularly but also curious what women think. I have heard a lot of women talk about their nails or the manicures they have gotten but I have never heard a single man mention it. Count me curious.
