What was the first game You personally pirated (downloaded)? Which thoughts and feelings went through Your head? How long did it take to download and over which connection?

For me it was Heretic over 56k modem. IIRC the size was 10MB give or take. In reality it took several hours and connection dropped a few times. Did it at night when my parents were asleep, sweat pouring and heart pounding, constantly glaring at the screen. Downloaded off an shady FTP server.

I swear I was waiting for some three letter agency to come a knockin' in the following days. Seems I dodged a bullet.

There is a thing that happens to me on every movie website - which kinda points that there's something wrong with me or my device.

So to not overdue - the "thing" is that when I start watching something it will pause at a random moment and load on loop. My internet is more than fine, I've tested literally everything - all adblocks/antivirus/proxy/VPN OFF - incognito, different browser and plenty of different movie websites from FMHY, and plenty of different streaming sources - the issue repeats itself over and over.

Idk what else can I do, nothing seems to be fucking working, there're no options left

AND - also let me clear one thing right away, as I know the comments about any movie-related subject will flood with "Stremio" - I don't personally feel ok with using it, as great and amazing as it is it also caries some risks, I'm non-tech so I don't want to deal with all of that, and the security of trying to stay under the radar, don't bash me for it pls xd

Once in a while I'll watch a TV series or a movie, all I need is a basic website that I can chromecast on my TV but yeah xd hundreds of options to choose from and the fate decided that nope, none of those hundred options will work for you xD

Cannot finish my god damn dinner as one episode will stop within 15-20 minutes. When I'll wait a few hours it sort of lets me to watch 10-20 minutes again - until it stops and loads on loop again

Hey guys I'm from Mexico so no need for a VPN. I usually just stream from my phone from different websites to my tv. I've been thinking of alternatives such as the one mentioned on the question, just getting a firestick and installing stremio or whatever option you guys recommend to make it easier. Is it really worth it or should I continue the way I'm doing it.

Or is there an additional option I haven't thought of.

I have asked this before but this is a bit different.

What is better 4k webDL 5.1 DD Dolby Atmos vs 1080p Bluray remux 7.1 channel audio or 5.1 lossless but no Atmos (I know sometimes they do now have atmos).

On a modern 4K movie, say Paddington in peru. What is better? I know the bluray is bigger but I hear the encoding is the issue and at 1/2 the size the 4k could be similar quality or better if it is coming from a 4k source with better encoding.

I know old movies not remastered for 4k, with 4k upscale web releases will not be better than the 1080p bluray. Also, no one seems to do hybrid 4k web releases with lossless audio from the bluray.

so, I was looking for a course on 3D modelling and decided to pirate a 250 dollar course from cgdownload.ru, it let me download my files but the .rar files are password protected. looked on the website, found no password. apparently you have to pay 13 dollars to get the password through email, that's bullshit.

anyone know what the file password? is it different for different files? :(

The only thing stopping me is that we have an amazon fire tablet that our little one uses to watch disney+ (Bluey, Spidey etc).

Old man Luddite trying to navigate the online world here.

I discovered how to download comics using my iPad from getcomics. My iPad is full and looking at storage the most used up comes from Chrome since this is where if used the website and made the downloads from.

Every time a file finished downloading I would select open in Panels (the reading app). Then it would either be there or it would be a zip file to unzip and then I can read them.

I tested deleting one title from chrome but noticed I then lost it also in the Panels app. Though I might have messed up and accidentally deleted wrong.

TL;DR is: Can I just delete all files in Chrome and it’ll keep all my titles in the Panels app all safe?

Am interested in using some very specific simulation software that has been cracked by TeAM SolidSQUAD and is available in ru-tracker.

Now my concern is any potential backdoor/spying/etc that might be present in the cracked license server as I'd like to install the software on my personal PC. Fears only compounded by this prior post

I know I can just run it in a VM but that usually entails a performance loss, hence why ideally it would be on "bare metal"
