There are types of cats that are hypoallergenic I'm pretty sure, but yeah the litterbox can be rough sometimes lol

It's cool and odd how they all live in the same house and play in the same yard but all have distinct smell to their fur though, if you smooch the top of their heads, they have different earthy/flowery/grassy/mushroom-y scents to their fur. I'm pretty sensitive too and scooping the box clean be an ordeal but they're very fastidious overall and appreciate you helping them keep clean

I'd probably either awkwardly stammer about "uh it's like miss/mister but d-different haha" or throw a smoke grenade and scamper away

They're all pretty loose and varied based on the people using them from my experience, there aren't really widely standard terms. I feel like there are probably better words in other languages that could just become loanwords but I'm unfamiliar with them

"datemate" for bf/gf equivalent is kinda cute with the rhyme but is still a little clunky

I kinda like the Mx prefix in place of Mr/Mrs but nobody outside queer social circles really knows it and would probably give you a blob-no-thoughts look if you said "mix (last name)" irl

I don't quite feel comfortable going by all feminine pronouns and titles but they're a lot better than masc ones for me and they don't hit normies' ears as awkwardly so I might try them out irl when I'm presenting femmier, idk

I'm very sleep deprived and they keep me very busy but I love them so much and they've been so good for my mental health meow-hug

mental illness improvementBefore they showed up, I used to have a lot of "why even get out of bed if I don't have to" type days and now I'm kinda getting my shit together

Oh man, so many corny older relatives love saying "tar-zjayyy" for Target like it's funny to pronounce it like it's French for some reason

[–] LocalOaf@hexbear.net 4 points 7 hours ago (7 children)

Coming up with good enby terms for relations always feels a little clumsy to me, maybe "pear 🍐" for parent? idk

My cool aunt tried "niecephew" for me and the thought was sweet but it's a little clunky lol

Curly, Felix and Rosie will all hop on my lap at the same time when we go out in the backyard, and I think it's part of their morning routine.

Goggles likes being held on my shoulder and walking around so he has a better vantage point to survey his territory but he's still a bit skittish and doesn't really approach people on his own, but he likes pets and scritches when he's laying down somewhere

Knew a guy that thought using "vis à vis" whenever he could made him sound smarter, but he said it with a weird stress on the first syllable and rushed it all together, so everyone referred to him as "Visa-vee" in passing behind his back

Checked a notification I got in the trans mega and the comment chain doesn't appear, and the original post for the mega about Leslie Feinberg displays but none of the comments appear for me. When I go to the c/traaaaaaannnnnnnnnns page, no threads appear. Did the com get scrubbed or is this some bug on my end?

Well I grew up in the client-state of a petro king with a complicated take on things like human rights, But baby that's the sacrifice, for bringing joy to the world

And I learned young how the west was won, with Christ's big heart and a bigger gun But it wasn't enough so we took the moon Because nazi rocket science too, can bring joy to the world

The war on drugs, this righteous cause To clear our streets of criminals, now civilized by an opioid, so the Sackler family can enjoy Spreading joy around the world

New York City, the world loves you and retribution was surely duе To the zealots who brought you hell, boy thе heroes in Langley taught them well How to infiltrate joy into the world

Can’t we all just get along like Amazon and Raytheon Coming together to make a drone To bring us lunch and kill their sons in a synergistic 2-for-1 Ballistic joy to the world

Please stop resisting all the joy in your world Just a car full of celebrities singing about the joy in your world

A string of bad luck, in this final turn, we gathered around and watched our cities burn “Who could have possibly predicted this?!” said everyone

So we'll boldly venture into the black, guided by a Grimes soundtrack We'll liberate some foreign stars and stick a flag on the face of mars There’s beauty in starting again, patient zero of original sin As the mantra rings across the land “how clever, look at us, we've done it again!”

We're bringing joy to whole new worlds You must admit we've certainly got a knack for bringing joy To whole new worlds In time these aliens will learn to love the joy We bring to whole new worlds

We're bringing joy to your world You’d better hope you don't have cheap bananas or else we're bringing joy to your world You’d better hope you don't have dead dinosaurs or we'll bring joy to your world You’d better hope you don't have big plans or else we're bringing...

What it isn't is an actionable blueprint to end "US Democracy"--as if democracy was even the dominant trend in the US republic--but it isn't nothing. It does tell us where the id of future GOP staffers actually is, and what incoherence in right-wing ideologies and interests needs to be papered over by an otherwise incoherent grabbag of ideologically opposed policies. Trump likes his demagogy much vaguer. But we also need to look beyond these immediate concerns and interests and see the long-term trends that are being exposed like lipstick traces.

Interesting stuff, I don't always agree with Varn but always think he's interesting and frequently ends up making some cogent insights on political economy development and labor relations and what's going on in major liberal unions in the US and envy how well read and broad his theory knowledge is. Sean KB from The Antifada is really good for that too.

"Fuck movies."

Recently have been going back through the Death is Just Around the Corner podcast and been marinating in a lot of its themes, and found some of MSJ's music digging deeper into everything I could find about the podcast and its topics, and this song he did about the JFK assassination and Lee Harvey Oswald is really beautiful imo.
