I find the parallel enforcement of voting norms by the chuds really funny: "A vote for Ron Paul is a vote for Joe Biden!"

The value proposition of voting for Trump is the thrill of transgressing the established pieties and norms. But everyone lives in the longhouse now; everyone is DEI; everyone is idpol; so now you have to vote for him or else the MAGA HR managers will come lecture (and libel) you.

I’ll be honest I didn’t even realize Ron Paul was in.

Again? Still? That dude was running as the libertarian candidate since before I could vote, and he was old then!

[–] BelieveRevolt@hexbear.net 10 points 3 months ago (1 children)

He's not, Kyle just said he's writing him in (until he backpedaled), which is just bizarre on multiple levels.

[–] ClimateChangeAnxiety@hexbear.net 8 points 3 months ago

Oh. That’s even funnier actually

[–] DragonBallZinn@hexbear.net 4 points 3 months ago

Imagine capitalizing off of conservatives just being "the real leftists", and any white man that's progressive is "escaping the USSRepublican gulag".

Hopefully this spells the end of this dipshits "career"

Joe the plumber and Ken bone are calling

[–] FungiDebord@hexbear.net 22 points 3 months ago (1 children)

nah he already walked it back like a good piggy

but is it too late? once the transphobia hits it probably never goes away in that plane of hell

[–] Robert_Kennedy_Jr@hexbear.net 4 points 3 months ago

Yeah I'm not sure he can unburn those bridges.

[–] Robert_Kennedy_Jr@hexbear.net 24 points 3 months ago

I guess I'm not surprised there are still Sandy Hook truthers

I honestly wonder what happened to this guy. He went from seemingly successfully going full grifter with the campus tour, FOX appearances and the dumbass mobile game, all of that, then suddenly it came out he couldn't support his family and now suddenly seems ditched.

[–] came_apart_at_Kmart@hexbear.net 38 points 3 months ago (1 children)

i think being a successful or even mediocre grifter requires a sort of cunning and easily-ignored-but-present sympathetic capacity that most people simply lack. for every snake oil peddler, there are dozens of people who lack the wit for the first part.

kyle is a high school dropout with terrible instincts, prone to violent outbursts, obsessive retaliation, and the impulse control of a particularly shitty toddler. his escape from justice was entirely handed to him by a system that is tailor made to protect people like him from consequences and that, not his maneuvers, made him a rally point for reactionaries.

it's like george zimmerman. sure, these people don't get locked up for the murder they do, and conservatives throw money at them in "support", but they are absolutely too mean and stupid to function, let alone turn that support into a vehicle for their advancement. at best, they avoid the total destitution and long term incarceration that would generally find them if they weren't a famous darling of reactionaries.

To build off of a point that you made beautifully (that I have tried to articulate in the past and failed) I have to remind myself that while it would be a slam dunk for me to keep that gravy train rolling, I would have never been in his position in the first place. He was necessarily immature to become an icon in the first place. While I'm looking for a commemorative, signed rifle deal or partnering with LEGO or something to cause more outrage and sell merch, he's alienating the base.

Dude just seems too uncharismatic and clueless for even the right wing grifter set. The whole not voting for Trump thing just solidified it, you don't go against the golden calf like that in favor of Ron Paul of all people, lmao

[–] Assian_Candor@hexbear.net 21 points 3 months ago (1 children)

He's dumb as a rock apparently

[–] smokebuddy 13 points 3 months ago* (last edited 3 months ago)

ah maybe a not-so-useful idiot (tw it's his mobile game)

[–] TankieTanuki@hexbear.net 5 points 3 months ago (1 children)

support his family

Family?

[–] smokebuddy 2 points 3 months ago

his mom and sister either were about to or got evicted, they did a gofundme, but apparently it worked so idk what happened.

[–] MerchantsOfMisery@lemmy.ml 21 points 3 months ago

Useful idiot turns out to be not so useful after all.

[–] Thorngraff_Ironbeard@hexbear.net 19 points 3 months ago (2 children)

What are they trying to say with the sandy hook thing? That he's a crisis actor?

[–] Llituro@hexbear.net 19 points 3 months ago (2 children)

Yeah, I'm pretty sure Noah Ponzers father was one of the main people who were targeted by Alex Jones.

[–] ClimateChangeAnxiety@hexbear.net 16 points 3 months ago

lathe-of-heaven

Kyle Rittenhouse becoming a plaintiff in the Alex Jones case

[–] miz@hexbear.net 10 points 3 months ago* (last edited 3 months ago)

whoever made this meme mocking the murder of a six-year-old didn't even get the kid's last name right

father's name is Lenny Pozner

Man, rightoids claim they're the party of white men but they always act horribly whenever a white man does anything they don't like and have come up with more slurs against white guys than any leftist can ever dream of:

  • Cuck
  • Soyboy
  • Baizuo
  • Emily (for white women specifically)

And some more "historical ones" that I don't want to mention. Like, oh cool, you advocated that some people die on my behalf which I never asked of you, I still don't owe you anything.

Kyle should have taken a lesson from Trump and double downed. Now he looks weak.
