I was flattering one of the mods, saying they were without peer; that they only removed few posts and when they did it was people who disagreed with me; and they were lucky to have such great powers. In response the mod offered to switch places with me for a day so that I could "experience this great power firsthand." I eagerly accepted the mod's proposal.

I sat on my computer chair and moderated the comm with a nicer mod-exclusive UI, access to the girls-only mod chat, and the service of grovelling users begging to not have their posts removed. But the mod, who has made many enemies during their modship, arranged that a naginata sword they bought me off Amazon Prime should hang above my computer chair, held at the mekugi-ana only by a single hair of a horse's tail to evoke the sense of what it is like to be a mod: though having much censorious power, always having to watch in anxiety against dangers that might try to overtake them, whether it is a jealous admin or wrecker, a slanderous rumor, an enemy instance, a poor website decision, or anything else.

I finally begged the mod for permission to depart because I no longer wanted to be so fortunate, realizing that while I could have had everything I could ever want at my fingertips as a mod, it could not affect the dangers over my head.

I can't believe I thought the treat discourse was kind of overblown when it started. Does anyone have an extra UlyssesT apology form for me?

dental hygiene is important to maintaining health i have heard an electric tooth brush works better than a manual one at cleaning teeth.

the textbook i skimmed and comments i read suggested soft toothbrushes to avoid gum reccession (while applying a low amount of pressure on teeth with the bristles [pressure on par with the amount you apply to shining shoes])

they also said that at some point when you hand dexterity is more developed in your youth, you should adopt the usage of the modified bass technique.

also if you hate tying floss across your finger, you can tye the floss into a loop. i cut the floss at a lenght of 37 cm and tye it into a loop

edit additional rinsing your mouth after a meal/ beverage

having your coffee/drink all in sitting go instead of sipping throughout the day, as the acidic level in the drink can weaken teeth

there is also different types of abrasive levels for each toothpaste (if you are worried about brushing away your enamel on your teeth, which causes extreme sensitivity)

The level of anticommunist bullshit you could just fabricate whole-cloth before the internet was truly on another level. In this obituary we get the following claims/fuckups:

  • "Stalker portrayed the Soviet Union as a mass concentration camp" ???????
  • she makes up an actor in Stalker who as far as I can tell does not even exist: "Ivan Laptev"
  • an assertion that the principal character and whatever character would be played by the fictional actors "represented the country's conscience" and WHO is the country's conscience you might wonder? That's right ALEXANDER SOLZHENITSN!!!! and antinuclear activist Andrei Sakharov
  • it was apparently so obvious that these characters represented these two people that the film was banned in the USSR (it wasn't)
  • it was based on Picnic on the Road by Stanislaw Lem and came out in 1980 (actually based on Roadside Picnic by The Strugatsky Brothers and came out in 1979).
  • because the Strugatsky Brothers wrote such a reactionary script they struggled to find publishers after the release (they continued to publish until Arkady Strugatsky's death)
  • similarly, the principal actor Alexander Kaidanovsky couldn't get any more acting work in the Soviet film industry (he continued to work in the Soviet film industry until the collapse of the USSR)

I'll stop here - it's genuinely impressive how densely packed the fantasy is here, an interesting document of how free to lie anticommunist expats were before the internet.
