I've been doing a little research into my family through FindAGrave.com and it got me interested in a pretty serious genealogy project. I'm planning on making a binder for each one of my great grandparents, since they are the oldest living family I ever got to meet, and branching out from there.

I was wondering if there were other free resources to track down some info. I know I can do a free trial on Ancestry.com and I plan on that once I get all my ducks in a row, so I can maximize my free trial.

I'd prefer online resources. I'm well aware I can go to my library or township halls to get info. I'm looking for stuff I can find when I'm just sitting around at home.

I just plunked $6 in quarters into a machine to wash my clothes (edit: and another $1 for the dryer), and I feel like I'm getting ripped off.

does anyone know any unknown / lesser known job oppurtunities, especially ones that would get me to relocate and be able to move out of my parents house? I have a bachelors degree in computer engineering and some experience contributing to Linux

Oh my. It seems like a shitload of otherwise progressive people have no qualms about the idea of a traditional marriage and the man retaining most of the control by default.

This makes me very uncomfortable because I have met some women who have internalized this idea (idk is it that patriarchy or am I overreacting?) which is just so weird to me.

Like, you’re a left-leaning person up until the point where you’re happy to be in a relationship with a cishet man who controls you now. This is society I guess 🤷‍♂️

I’ve been getting spam from an apparently real debt collection company but the thing is I’ve only ever owed debt to two entities: my credit card and the government (fucked up my withholdings once). I know I don’t owe shit, so either it’s a scam that’s impersonating a real agency or somebody stole my identity and they think I do. Which is possible, for reasons I won’t go into.

Are there any good books like A Brief History of Time that include relatively recent findings? I read a few focused on string theory in the mid-2000s but that turned out to be bunk. Really looking for bleeding edge theoretical physics and the like but interested in all science and math stuff.

I'm in recovery and these alcohol ads are literally painful. Like one 30 second ad will make me spiral and I'll need my antianxiety meds and my ESA. How do I stop the fucking algorithm?

For context I watch everything on my Xbox one because my laptop is broke

End-Of-Life For Z80 CPU And Peripherals Announced | Hackaday

In a Product Change Notification (PCN) published on April 15, Zilog (now owned by Littelfuse) announced the End of Life for a range of Z80 products, specifically virtually all of the Z84C00 range. This also includes the peripherals, such as the Z84C10 range of MPUs. These are currently already marked as EoL on stores like Mouser, with Littelfuse noting that the last orders with them can be placed until June 14th of 2024. After that you’ll have to try your luck with shady EBay sellers and a lucky box of old-new-stock found in the back of a warehouse.

What this effectively means is that after just under 48 years since its launch in 1976, the Zilog Z80 will no longer be available for sale as discrete components, which is likely to primarily impact hobbyists and people who are trying to keep retro systems going. This does not mean that it’s the end of the road for Z80, however, as the eZ80 will be produced for the foreseeable future.

These new chips will of course not come in easy to drop in DIPs, making the challenge of breadboarding your own Z80-based microcomputer that much tougher. Yet one thing that definitely won’t happen is any of us witnessing the end of the era of the Z80, 6502 and 8051 architectures.

As we all know here, material conditions have progressively been getting worse and worse. Based on pretty much all political theory, crime rates should also be going up with worse material conditions. But they haven't, in fact, crime rates have been going consistently down for the past 30 or so years. Why is that?

I'm looking for either unbiased nonfiction, or translated stories directly from the time and place. I figured you all here would be a good source to ask :p

A 572 rough square would be about 25ft by 23ft.

It's ~53 sq meters.
