This BS needs to end.

On average, nearly 300 people every year are released directly from Massachusetts' maximum-security prison, directly onto the street with no guidance or support from the state. Often, they end up right back in prison. That cycle is the focus of a new report from GBH News's series, "Life After Prison." Deputy Investigative Editor Jenifer McKim, who reported the story, joined Tori Bedford to discuss, along with Mac Hudson, community liaison coordinator for Prisoners Legal Services of Massachusetts.

From her filing:

Chair O'Brien soon became aware that a "playbook" existed at the [Cannabis Control Commission] where it became apparent that there was an entrenched bureaucracy at the CCC that would assert baseless allegations in order to cause lengthy internal investigations that were designed to force resignations. ...

At least one CCC employee, after her appointment, informed Chair O'Brien that she would be "Hoffman 2.0."

On another occasion, in October, 2022, the Executive Director informed Chair O';Brien that he was keeping a file to use against another CCC commissioner if she "ever gave him trouble."

This should apply to internet purchases as well as retail, up to a $2,500 limit on a single item.

People who lived in the house before us let a dozen trees grow for 30 years to become 30+ ft tall about 5ft from the septic system (and to make it even more fun, into the power lines along our driveway).

Not having an acute problem at the moment but they've got to come down before there is a huge problem.

And I'm bitter about it because it's going to be a huge PiTA or big dollars to pay for help.

Looking South towards Boston, here's a composite of several photos with lightning from last night's storm. I think I missed the better/earlier weather cell that blew through.

This 4th of July weekend I'm feeling so happy to be a Mass resident. Best place I've ever lived.

What are everyones plans?

Just had a BBQ with close friends. Such a great day for it. Beer, BBQ, firepit. Karaoke. Indoor/outdoor party.

In the coming months, 62 turbines, each up to 850 feet high (taller than any building in Boston) with blades about 350 feet long, will be planted on a sweep of seabed 15 miles off Martha’s Vineyard, the island where former Presidents Barack Obama and Bill Clinton have vacationed.

Cables carrying electricity created by spinning rotors will land on a beach in Barnstable on Cape Cod and then head to consumers in the state. Vineyard Wind says its machines will crank out enough power to light up 400,000 homes.

Boston has always been a confusing city for transit. Recently, in an effort to improve the Somerville region of the city, the construction group extending the green line completed work on a walking and biking path that follows the green line's tracks, connecting the Magoun Square area, through to the new stations at Gilman Square, East Somerville, and Lechmere.

The most significant part of the new extension is that it takes pedestrians and cyclists past two major obstacles of the area; the MacGrath Highway, a four-lane road with high-speed traffic, scant crossings, and a history of cyclist deaths, and the "Inner Belt" area, a network of blocked-off rail tracks for the railways coming from North Station.

The community path's new end destination at Lechmere takes pathgoers through Cambridge Crossing, a rising center that runs many outdoor events, through to connections that take people across the Charles River Dam into downtown, or through North Point Park and the pedestrian North Bank Bridge to reach Charlestown and the Navy Shipyard.
