With us near free agency I found this graphic to help with understanding the limitations the happen to teams over the 1st apron (roughly $178.7 million in total roster salary) and the 2nd apron (roughly $189.5 million in total roster salary).

Regarding the frozen pick: If you get under the second apron for the next three seasons (2025-26, 2026-27 and 2027-28), then you can trade that 2032 first after the 2027-28 season. If you don’t get under the second apron in the following years, your 2032 first-round pick will get dropped to the end of the first round, regardless of where it lands.

I'm told (Jimmy Butler) will not be signing an extension with the Heat or any other team ahead of his opt-out in 2025 free agency,” per

Blazers Trade for Deni Avdija (bleacherreport.com)
submitted 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) by TrippyFocus@lemmy.ml to c/nba@lemmy.world

Wizards are trading Deni Avdija to the Blazers for Malcom Brogdon, tonight's 14th overall pick, and a 2029 pick.

Edit:

The Blazers are sending the second most favorable of their 2029 first-round picks and two second-round picks in the deal for Avdija

The Brooklyn Nets have agreed in principle on a trade to send F Mikal Bridges to the New York Knicks for Bojan Bogdanovic, four unprotected first-round picks, a protected first-round pick via Bucks, an unprotected pick swap and a second-rounder, sources tell ESPN.

Edit: Another trade

The Brooklyn Nets are trading a 2025 Suns pick swap, 2027 Suns first-rounder and a first-rounder and swap in 2029 to the Houston Rockets for their own 2025 pick swap and 2026 first-round from the James Harden trade.

Probably means the Nets go for a rebuild now since they’ll have their own picks the next 2 years now.
