I'm not sure what I did to summon this little window, or how do get rid of it. Can anyone enlighten me? Thanks.

I kind of wonder if this is Automator recording. I just tried recording a new workflow with Automator and it didn’t look quite like that though. I’m on 14.6, so that might also be why.

I had the same thought. Kinda looks like something called "keyboard maestro"

I do use Keyboard Maestro, but don't know how I triggered it. That gives me something to go on though.
