Explanation: Latin looks and sounds cool, but it is a Hell Language with infinite declensions and conjugations and other minor grammatical nuances. You want to learn someone’s pronouns in Latin? Best get a paper and pad, it’ll take a while. Pronouns aren’t as important in Latin, though, as it’s a pro-drop language. Context usually fills in for pronouns.
Also, mandatory statement that ‘they/them’ is a perfectly good singular gender-neutral pronoun and I will die on this hill.
Damn wokeness is ruining English. They/them just sounds unnatural for referring to a singular person. It’s for plural use only. A person can’t use their own preference whenever they want! A leftist will just act like they can just make up grammar and syntax at their leisure!
Your satire isn't exaggerated enough. This is exactly what some people believe. The only giveaway is your proper use of spelling and punctuation. And using fifth grade vocab words (too high).
You used singular they 4 times
Oh my god were you being satiric?
This could have been word for word something some bigoted people I know would say, you gotta be unsubtle lest people think you are serious
Were you under the impression that Grammer and Syntax came from the linguism mines?
All words are made up.
Look, you are just flat out wrong about singular they. Singular they is used all the time in conversations. Even Shakespeare used singular they to refer to a person. Hamlet act 3 scene 3 line 34.
Personal pronouns aren’t new either. The bible gives God personal pronouns, He/Him, since His pronouns are always capitalized when He is referred to.
Grammar isn’t being made up, the tools that already exist are being used in ways that make you uncomfortable for some weird reason.
Apparently in another post they implied satire.
Yeah, that was a response to another comment I made.
I think this is an appropriate response to that type of satire where the satire is just saying the same thing the person they are satirizing would say, since it’s not really possible to tell, especially online
So it's ~~turtles~~ satire all the way down?
~~Fuck off~~
lmao, satire wooshed right past me, didn't even realize they used they as singular in their comment.
