One of the comments pointet out the author didn't account for VAT in the initial conversion and provided what be your typical, tax-excluded US listing. (I have checked at least for the most expensive one and the math is correct.) I don't think 950$ for a partner model is that crazy.
I'd expect 800-850 for the reference 9070 XT and expect it to compete against the 5070ti rather than the 5070 given these numbers.
In Germany (19% VAT), the 7900 XT is currently around 700 to 800 Euros for most cards, depending on where you're looking. Based on that, the 9070 cards are either crazy fast or crazy priced. 1000 € would be way too expensive and contradict what Frank Azor said in that interview.
The 9070 XT is the flagship tho, isn't it? The current one isn't the 7900 XT, but the 7900 XTX for no less than 900€. It launched for I think about 1.1k
The new naming scheme suggests that the 9070 will compete with the RTX 5070, which will cost (according to computerbase.de) 649 €. Even if that doesn't include our 19% taxes, that would be far from 900 €.
