Honestly, Syria falling was more upsetting to me than Trump winning again

Same. It has depressed me more than anything else so far. My family says they are fine still, but I'm constantly worrying for their safety.

Is your family Christian or Shia? Because I've heard the government has been going hard on them and some of them want to get the un to intervene.

Shia, Twelver, that's why I'm particularly worried. They've said so far that nothing has happened so far and that they are safe, but they're in Damascus which I'd assume the new government doesn't want to create instability in. Still I can unfortunately see things going south years down the line if HTS manages to completely dismantle the remaining Baathist resistance or Kurdish controlled territory.
