What should I understand about Guardians of the Galaxy as someone who's never watched any of the movies but I'm playing the game right now? (lemmy.ml)

So I am playing the game because it was free on my PlayStation plus premium and I got a reward on my PlayStation app for playing it. I've kind of gotten into Guardians of the Galaxy now but I went into the game basically blind. I knew who Rocket Raccoon was and Groot but that was about it. So I do understand that Rocket understands what Groot is saying and Groot just says I am Groot.

Since you've gotten the answers, I have a question.

How are you liking the game? Are you playing the one from 2021 where you play as Star Lord? If so, I honestly kinda fucking loved it. From the gorgeous scenery and visuals, to the way the characters were written and voiced. I felt the game was just long enough to be great and not overly long, but tbh I kinda want a sequel.
