Hey, this is going to become a list of firearms related museums across the world it'll will be linked in the side bar.

I haven't attended all, or even most, of these museums but the intention is to include museums that have a small arms collection. The museum may have a broader focus such as world history.

If there's any museums you know comment them and I'll add them below. This is and will likely always be an incomplete list.

If you don't know any museums but you don't see your country represented let me know and we'll see if we can't find one to add.

I don't speak every language so that means I might have a hard time finding the official sites for some museums, if you manage to find one I didn't let me know and I'll change it.

The Neue Burg museum in Vienna has a pretty large weapons collection, all pre-1918.

Armémuseum, the Army Museum in Stockholm in Sweden does have a relatively large exhibit of guns. There is even a collection of war bounty cannons from Denmark on display outside.

Eskilstuna Stadsmuseum - Eskilstuna City Museum, has a collection of bayonets, swords, crossbows, spears, firearms, canons and machine guns with a special focus on weapons made in Eskilstuna.

I will also add Flygvapenmuseum in Linköping, it may not be handguns, but the Swedish Air Force museum is an excellent museum, showing off some truly unique artifacts like, the DC3 that was shot down by the Soviet Union over international waters in the Baltic while performing signals intelligence against them, several SAAB jet fighters, like Tunnan, Lansen, Draken, Viggen, Gripen and SK60, there are exhibits about Sweden and the cold war, flight simulators, futuristic architecture from 1968 used in the Swedish Air Force, and more. Highly recommended.

Thanks! I added the first two but for the sake of keeping the list short I'm going to try and limit the list to museums with a small arms collection. If I include every aviation, naval, or armor museum it'll be a lot more work. But I haven't been to Flygvapenmuseum, so if it does actually have at least a section dedicated to firearms or munitions I'll add it.

I did check out pictures of Flygvapenmuseum though and it looks very nice!

Rules:

1) Treat Others in a Civil Manner. This is not the place to deride others for their race, sexuality, or etc. Personal insults of other members are not welcome here. Neither are calls for violence.

2) No Contemporary Politics Historical politics that influenced designs or adoption of designs are excluded from this rule. Acknowledgement of existing laws to explain designs is also permissable, so long as comments aren't in made to advocate or oppose a policy. Let's not make this a place where we battle over which color ties our politicians should have, or the issues of today.

3) No Advertising This doesn't apply to posting historical advertisements.

4) Keep Post on Topic This rule will be enforced with leeway. Just keep it related to arms or Forgotten Weapons. If you feel you have something that's worth posting here that isn't about either of those (and doesn't violate other rules) feel free to reach out to a mod.

5) No NSFW Content Please refrain from posting uncensored extreme gore or sexualized content. If censored these posts may be fine.

Post Guide Lines

These are suggestions not rules.

-Provide a duration for videos. eg. [12:34]

-Provide a year to either indicate when a specific design was produced, patented, or released. If you have an older design being used in a recent conflict provide the year the picture was taken. Dates should be included to help contextualize, not necessarily give exact periods.

-Post a full URL, on mobile devices it can be hard to tell what you're clicking on if you only see "(Link)".

-Posts do not have to be just firearms. Blades, bows, etc. are also welcome.
