(EN) Think of the ‘Tagebuch’ (german for diary) as a mini blog without a fixed topic. So there can be posts on very different topics. I would just like to stay out of politics.

Well then, have fun reading and browsing through my diary.

P.S. As I don't have time to moderate, creating posts will initially be reserved for me alone. I don't yet know whether I will change this at some point.

For this community I recommend the sorting ‘New’.

19.08.2024 Liebes Tagebuch...

Hi from ignorant monoglot lands: I read this book and it's great. It's a very fast read and over too soon but feels more perfect for it.
The narrator's voice is fun.
All in all I heavily recommend it.

Oh, today's translation programmes have become so good. That's enough to follow a small "blog" like this one.

I recommend DeepL Web or Android App for this

With (audio) books, of course, it's a different story.

Ooh, thank you! That worked swimmingly.
Moreso though, I might be missing undertones and am most likely to take things at face value so I apologize if I'm sidestepping some inferences.

I ripped through this whole series, it's fun and there's a little more going on than you'd expect.

I got the hard copy, I thought it was alright. I wonder if voice narration would make it better

Can you recommend good hard sci-fi books, or a list?

I really enjoyed the Trisolaris series by Liu Cixin, The Expanse series by James S. A. Corey and the Bobiverse series by Dennis E. Taylor.

As a single book, I really liked Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir.

As I enjoyed everything you listed, I’ll assume I’ll also enjoy the Murderbots.

I am currently reading „This is how you lose the Time War“. It was praised, but I cannot give a verdict, yet.

I can recommend the „Wool“ series by Hugh Howie and the „Broken Earth“ by NK Jemisin (more „technical“ Fantasy than SF, but great world building).

Thanks, those look very interesting!

Don't mention it.
