This is interesting, although it has no real sources. That being said its not that much of a stretch. If it had provided 1 good source rather than "An operator formerly deployed [...] told me" I'd be open to entertaining the idea.

I recall Brian Berletic had an episode on The New Atlas talking about this where he did provide sources. Can't recall which one it was though.

There is no 'stretch' about this if even the NYT is talking about it in the open.

Oh yeah that's the one, I find he does a fantastic job sleuthing. I just can't imagine the pain of having to read through all the drivel outlets like NYT put out to find the salient bits. Like they always bury little nuggets of genuinely interesting information somewhere deep in the article.
