Google Gemini - "provide a synopsis of this video"

This video is about the difficulty of obtaining ADHD medication and the dangers of resorting to black market alternatives. The speaker, Benn Jordan, describes his experience of being diagnosed with ADHD and then struggling to get the medication he needs. He explains that there is a shortage of ADHD stimulants, and that the DEA has made it difficult for doctors to prescribe them. This has led to a black market for ADHD medication, which can be dangerous because the pills may be counterfeit or laced with other substances. The video also discusses the risks of not being treated for ADHD, such as increased car accidents, substance abuse, and suicide. The speaker concludes by calling on the government to make it easier for people to get the medication they need. Here are the key points:

  • The speaker was diagnosed with ADHD and had trouble getting the medication he needed.
  • There is a shortage of ADHD stimulants due to DEA regulations.
  • People are resorting to the black market to get ADHD medication, which is dangerous.
  • Untreated ADHD can lead to serious health problems.
  • The speaker believes the government should make it easier to get ADHD medication.

This summary misses at least the back half of the video if not more.

Or... you could just watch the video. Considering this is the Video community.

Benn Jordan keeps it entertaining.

No, fuck that. I appreciate the summary. Don't listen to this guy who clearly has nothing better to do with his time.

Or… some of us can’t watch a 20 minute video at work and want to know what the video in the video community is about, and join the discussion?

What are you doing browsing the internet at work?

[–] thesmokingman@programming.dev 1 points 2 months ago

Are you at work 24/7? Why would you not wait until you can consume the content to participate in discussion about the content?

TL:DR anyone? I have adhd and these long ass YouTube videos kill me. 20 mins is a fucking lifetime

Basically government hates people who need life saving/changing medicine and actively goes after the black market where people have to turn to either because cost or the shortage, which is caused by corrupt corporations wanting more money.

Was banned for saying that it's not very difficult to self-med on !@adhd@lemmy.world due to "bad advice", by some overzealous janny. When this guy just shows Dread it's a-ok though. Literally 1984.

In general self-medicating safely is something us ADHDers should come together around and build a community to share advice on how to do it while minimizing harm. For those of us who are also trans, this is not at all unfamiliar and most trans people I've known either self-medicate or used to.
