The Suns need depth not another star.

Is Beal still a star. He has kind of lost his shine since in Washington.

I think he is good but I don't think he is top 30.

He's certainly paid like one (which will hurt their ability to add real depth)

Beal in Miami would be interesting. I don’t need to see KD and Book getting star reinforcements, just win it with role players, stop looking for shortcuts.

Interesting... I wonder what the packages for Beal will look like? Also, what does Phoenix even have to offer after the Durant trade?

I gotta imagine it's centered around Ayton. Maybe Washington just really likes him.

Phoenix was rumored to be hoping to go after Dame, and we were wondering what in the world they would be putting in the table to get him. Thinking the same thing for Beal; they just don't have a lot to offer without taking a step back in their roster construction too.

Seems like Miami would have Beal locked down, but we'll see!

Kinda think the Suns would walk back on waiving Chris Paul if this rumor is true. Played around with a trade machine and something like Paul or Ayton / Shamet or Bazley seems to be what it takes to make contracts line up.

shams said a while ago the suns are exploring all options with CP3, they are not necessarily waiving him.

still, I really don't get this fit with the suns. too many overlapping skills, not enough complementary skills with KD Book and Beal. they need to move CP3 and/or Ayton for depth, not another elite midrange shooter.

On the other hand Beal looks like a much better fit in Miami.

rumor is the heat are looking to trade Lowry, Oladipo, and "multiple picks".

What would the Heat's salary situation look like with Beal? I'm trying to learn more about the NBA salary cap (I've mostly been NFL focused)

[–] acosmichippo@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

supposedly they're trying to send out Lowry and Oladipo, so it would look like this:

Thanks, where could I find info like this? And to clarify what are the salaries highlighted in green?

that particular screenshot is from the trade machine at https://fanspo.com/nba/trade-machine. The green numbers are player options. blue is team options.

But normally I just google "[team] payroll" and the first hit is usually basketball reference which is quicker, but does not have the trading feature.

https://www.basketball-reference.com/contracts/MIA.html

spotrac is another reference that is extremely thorough, but way more data to sift through.
