I listened to an ok counter-argument the other day. Elon Musk was front and center with Trump before the elections, so nobody should've been confused that they will be voting for him as well. Presidential consulants and assistants (all of which are also "unelected") don't tend to be that visible.

Conservatives are claiming they did. So, they are saying they would like to have not just one but two billionaires run the country. The literal definition of oligarchy.

Counterpoint: 77 million people did. He was not hidden. He was with trump on stage, doing the awkward jumps and all. It was obvious he would have the power.

That's more than dishonest. Elon was and advisor to trump during his first term. No one could have accurately prediction elon would be puppeteer.

Millions did. I did. It was obvious. Check my comment history, or any thread about politics between September and the election.

It doesn't fucking matter, conservatives never take any one side on any single issue. 1 million of you say it's one way then another million say it's another. Ask. Fucking. Anyone (i did). Then trump says its all ways, and a week later says its none.

Trumps famous saying:

"I take responsibility for nothing"

The most honest things he says are right out in front to spite you. He says pinning him to project 2025 was unfair. He means politically unfair. He means it was unfair he had to defend his evil plan in daylight.

I'll sit here and wait and I'll gaurentee someone will come back with some hard-core hard line conservative talking point. Here on the "super lefty platform."

Every time someone buys a Tesla, they're voting for this guy.

"Hey JP, how much do clothes cost in the Matrix?"

Can people not comprehend corruption?

People from the USA voted for a corrupt candidate and are now surprised they are corrupt

After checking the definition for corrupt, i realized i had been using the word wrong for my entire life. By corrupt, i meant accepting bribes

Imagery is everything in the US. I know people who claim to hate socialism despite living off of a monthly Social Security check. They claim to hate communism but can't tell me what they think the word means, same goes for capitalism. The folks that tell you they don't trust the media will repeat word for word what the guy on television/podcast told them without bothering to verify it's accuracy.

It's true, but many people would have.

Has he gotten robot legs yet?

Hey Elon, how much do clothes cost in The Matrix?

Edit: I feel bad for anybody who doesn't get the references. It's from Grandma's Boy. Peak stoner comedy film. Very quotable...up there with "Your Highness" as my favorite stoner-comedies. Highly recommended.

"Hey look! It's Bono's little brother!"

[–] Psythik@lemm.ee 9 points 1 day ago

How can he see me!?

[–] taiyang@lemmy.world 13 points 1 day ago

I'mma be real though, the phase where he pretended to be progressive would have been better than the current nonsense. Most of the shit he does is disingenuous but a tech bro trying to impress cute leftists is far better for America than a tech bro trying to impress Nazis.

I seems the original photo was edited. Instead of "LIB" it was probably "HITL".

[–] SpatchyIsOnline@lemmy.world 1 points 14 hours ago

No no, Liberty getting smaller and fading away in the background is perfectly on brand
