My goal is just to have a community where people can go and see what new game news is out for the day and comment on it.
Other communities:
Cool gameplay, terrible characterization. Typical Japanese viewpoint of foreigners this character likes X now X is their whole personality.
Also, coffee is not Peru's thing, it's Columbia's thing. That and plastic surgery...
Edit: Also, the some of those subtitles were pretty far off the mark.
tbf it's a fighting game where 90% of the side characters characterization happens entirely within their mid-game voice lines.
That and peru definitely has a ton of coffee farms and coops in their mountains.
Yeah, I'm not saying that Peru isn't also known for their coffee, but I'd say that Columbia is better known for it, and if you're gonna make a character that represents a thing (in this case coffee) they should be from the place best known for it, right? Like you wouldn't make a character all about chocolate and make them from France; you'd more likely make them from Swiss or Belgium.
And yeah, you are right about the mid-game characterization, something I never really liked about a lot of fighting games. Doesn't make it terrible or anything mind you, it's just that there are better ways of doing it.
