Thanks for mentioning this. Now my instance runs it as the main UI. It is so nice, and written in Svelte I see. Fast and clean.
It looks so much better than the original one, but the scrolling is a bit weird, so I'm going to use Alexandrite.
Some of the alt UIs mentioned in this thread can be test-driven on lemmy.world:
- a.lemmy.world is running Alexandrite
- old.lemmy.world is running Mlmym
- p.lemmy.world is running Photon
And as others have said, once you find one you like you can self-host it and use it with any instance you prefer.

Or if you like the old Reddit style: https://github.com/rystaf/mlmym

I use Alexandrite. It works like my brain wants it to work, makes good use of wide display, has keyboard shortcuts, automatically opens external links in a new tab, and can be self hosted (if you want... I do).
I've been using Mlmym.
But sadly the official Mlmym site doesn't seem to be up anymore but https://o.opnxng.com/ still host an instance.
There are quite a few options.
A popular one is https://phtn.app/
This thread has some more suggestions.
