This seems like a straightforward phenomenon. It’s pure search engine capture for clicks. Honestly it seems innocent in its simplicity and naïveté.

You want to be horrified, look into YT content for kids.

As an amateur genealogist that pays for a Newspapers.com subscription I'd love to see some kind of universal free obituary service. Especially if it's AI processed to provide a visual tree of the relationships described.
