When I was 15? Sure. At 56 though? No. Shouldn't be doing that.
Probably shouldn't have done it at 15 either in hindsight. But kids can get away with that. Adults can't.
adults can, as long as they arent in the public spotlight
A politician is expected to have greater decorum. You are correct though haha
This will actually make him relatable, and keep him in his seat.
Especially for his electorate
You know, there were a number of snarky comments that came to mind. But in all seriousness, if I have 'family circumstances that my family need to deal with', you'll find me in a number of places, but certainly not zoned out from mixing alcohol and prescription meds, lying in the streets of Canberra swearing into my phone. My family wouldn't stand for it, and my employer wouldn't stand for it, if I somehow dragged them into the mix. They wouldn't merely ask me to 'consider taking personal leave'.
why does your employer have any say over your private life? idk your situation but that seems weird..
if I somehow dragged them into the mix
This is the best summary I could come up with:
The leader of the National Party has urged Barnaby Joyce to take leave after he mixed medication with alcohol and was filmed swearing into his phone while lying on his back on a Canberra street.
Footage published on Friday by the Daily Mail shows the federal MP on the ground with the phone after he said he fell off a planter box on Lonsdale Street, a busy entertainment strip in the nation's capital.
"I'm on a prescription drug and they say certain things may happen to you if you drink and they were absolutely 100 per cent right," he told Seven's Sunrise on Monday.
Mr Joyce said the incident was "very embarrassing" and happened when he was walking back to his accommodation after parliament had risen late last Wednesday night.
David Littleproud told the ABC he and Mr Joyce had a conversation about the "circumstances" that led to him lying down in the street.
Mr Littleproud said there were "greater circumstances" to the incident than the public was aware of, beyond the "mixture of medication and alcohol".
