David Mitchell and Robert Webb are returning to Channel 4 with a brand-new sketch show, which sees them combine forces with a host of exciting and innovative future stars, marking a bold return to British sketch comedy with an innovative merging of comedy minds across generations.

Mitchell & Webb will be supported by an ensemble cast of next generation writer/performers: Kiell Smith-Bynoe, Lara Ricote, Stevie Martin, and Krystal Evans, plus a dynamic team of established and upcoming comic writers.

The six-part series will be produced by That Mitchell & Webb Company in association with Big Talk Studios (Friday Night Dinner, Back, Ludwig), which is part of ITV Studios, and helmed by the BAFTA-winning duo’s long-standing Producer Gareth Edwards.

Knockout punchlines delivered inside a boxing ring saw a new winner crowned in the 2025 UK Pun Championships.

The format of the contest was a royal pun-ble inside Leicester's De Montfort Hall, with six combatants testing their wittiest quips as part of the annual Leicester Comedy Festival contest on Monday night.

Each was tasked with throwing a salvo of one-liners on themes posed by host Jason Byrne, with the noise of the crowd used to pick the winner.

Will B Found's wordplay saw him take the crown, with the punny funster "baffled" at the outcome, crediting a love of "cracker jokes".

Tim Minchin has announced a new UK tour, Songs The World Will Never Hear, marking the 20th anniversary of his arrival on the British comedy scene.

The show will see Minchin reflect on his career, tracing his journey from a cabaret pianist in Perth to an internationally acclaimed musician, comedian, and theatre composer. The set list will span three decades of songwriting.

Running from 4 June to 4 July 2025, the tour opens at London’s brand new Soho Theatre Walthamstow before visiting 18 cities across the UK, including Plymouth, Birmingham, Leicester, Sheffield, Hull, Cardiff, Nottingham, Blackpool, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Leeds, Newcastle, Manchester, Liverpool, Oxford, and Brighton, culminating in a final performance at the Eventim Apollo in Hammersmith. Tickets go on sale on 7 February at 12pm.
