Calvin and Hobbes standing outside in the dark, staring at the stars. Stick figure floating in the sky with a speech bubble saying "If I don't vote or vote for anyone not backed by a major party they tell me the outcomes are my fault, but I did not build this game, I think it's poorly designed, I was excluded from participation until quite recently, the rules treat certain groups really unfairly, the rules for changing the rules are also distributed really unfairly between players, and I never consented to participating and don't want to play. I just want to exist and try to do some good with my hands and my brain and the people around me who feel the same way."

I learned a lot from this article and I'll attempt to provide a short summary:

We are living in an era where the movements for land back and for solidarity with Palestinians, Sudanese, Congolese, Ukrainians, Hong Kongers, Tibetans, Uyghurs, Kashmiris, etc. are becoming more and more popular.

Since our taxes and electoral systems are designed to fund and reinforce these systems of genocide how can we support voting with a clear conscience when we know that our vote legitimizes the existence of the same entities perpetuating these genocides? How can voting be called harm reduction when our vote is for normalizing the existence of genocidal states like the US?

Liberals would think that people being anti-genocide will cost Harris the election, but do you honestly think I, a shitposter, and A FILIPINO IN THE PHILIPPINES, will have ANY discernible effect on the most powerful and influential election in the world? Get over yourself.

What will have an effect on the election? Supporting a genocide. If and when Harris loses, y'all will blame Muslims, the left, and Palestinians for not supporting Harris, but do you honestly think ANYTHING the left does really matter? It doesn't. The left has been inert for almost a century now. What will matter? Supporting a genocide.

Stop blaming people with a conscience for what will be the biggest political disaster in history (regardless of who wins). Start blaming your own politicians for supporting genocide thus losing their support base. Politicians have a job, and that job is being responsive to their constituency. Or at least that's what liberalism tells us about politics. Or you can wake up and see that the politicians were never "your" politicians because they were never accountable to you.

The significance of the individual ballot is the sophistry of liberal ideology, yet in the most powerlessness of the ballot contains the only move the alienated voter can accomplish. I will not blame people for not voting for more Palestinian death. In their powerlessness, that is the only form of politics left available to them.

And don't kid yourself you're voting for harm reduction. Harris stands for the same migrant concentration camps, the same transvestigations, the same trans genocide, the same genocide of Palestinians, the same cop cities, the same imperialism, the same ecocide. Literally every day you see a new article of Harris moving rightward. You're not voting for harm reduction, you're voting for "new normal" and your own personal comfort. It doesn't matter if Trump is worse if the worse is already the new normal. At least don't lie to yourself and others on that matter.

If you don't like your powerlessness, might I suggest Netayahu's message to the Lebanese people which said that they must overthrow Hezbollah or face genocide by Israeli bombs. You Americans must overthrow your government or face genocide by your own government. The concentration camps are already open (and stayed open by the grace of Biden!), and Trump or Harris, it already has your name on it.
