I know nothing about API pricing, so I'm hoping the community can help me understand the problem here. Reddit is charging $0.24 per 1,000 API calls. How does that compare to API pricing from other services? What should Reddit be charging?

I tried to actually visit some of the communities there, mainly ones tied to existing subreddits. But the communities I did find are tiny and/or have most recent posts months apart from each other. Am I missing something, or are these sites just not as active as I thought they'd be? Even sites like Hacker News seem to be critical of the idea of KBin and Lemmy replacing reddit. I fear the mass adoption may not be as widespread as I thought it would be.

When using Reddit from the browser on android, it frequently asks with a popup prompt "install app" or "continue"

When I googled how to disable this there should be a setting to turn this prompt off, did the admins delete this setting?

Scumbag move if so, then they are really fucking keen on killing this site asap

I understand the 3rd party apps loss, it's sad, I won't go into detail

But most communities still have a LARGE automod message about that. It's very annoying. It's been awhile, we understand. We can't do.. anything now. It is not worth fighting for it no more.

Changes won't be reversed.

I think it should be time to stop overly (not fully) talking about thus.

Anyone agree, or am I gonna get downvoted the hell out?
