Additionally, it would be appreciated if the location of the sighting and a date were given when a photo or question is posted. You do not have to give the precise location, something like "Northern Idaho, June 2023" or even "North-Western US, June 2023" suffices.

You don't need to add spoiler tag to images, the >!!< syntax doesn't work on Lemmy anyway. Just link to them and people will need to click to see them, e. g. hint/solution

Must be client dependant, spoiler tags work on sync, and shows it shows the thumbnails if I don't use them.

That's kind of a bug in Sync, Lemmy does not officially use the >!!< syntax but the following, long-winded one:

Client support is spotty but you can nest the inline tags within the block to make them work in the (non-compliant!) Sync.
