The Golden Rule: Music taste is subjective so don't be a gatekeeping asshole. There's no "bad music", only music you like or don't like.

We Are A Community: So no racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, ableism, or spam.

Many music fans will know of The Avalanches’ breakout, debut album Since I left You (2000). Fewer will know that they started out as more of a noise punk band, with elements of hip hop and electronic music nudging in. They were often compared to The Beastie Boys, which is probably why I started to notice them. The 2 tracks in this clip are from their EP El Producto (1998)

This live performance was on a Saturday morning TV show called Recovery, on ABC TV (Australia).

I was lucky enough to be at a show they played on New Year’s eve in ~~2000~~ 1998, ~~which was only a month after Since I left You was first released~~. It was so good.

If you get a chance, go check out this performance in the finals of the DMC World DJ Championship in ‘99. You might recognise the first record he plays, in particular. Dexta was in The Avalanches’ for a while.
