I started boycotting Starbucks since the first time I tasted their coffee. Espresso isn't supposed to taste like burning tyres. I don't understand how they can charge so much for dogshit coffee.

It's not impossible to make a chain of coffee houses that serves decent coffee, Espresso House did it in Sweden.

Most people put cream and sugar in their coffee or get one of milk based beverages.

They are not there for single origin light roasts.

No, society in general just isn't too particular about their sweet milk drinks. You don't need to use the most perfectly extracted espresso in a beverage that's mostly dairy and sugar syrup.
