Fallen god? Is the person who wrote this stupid? He's always been a liar and conman.
He did beloved and groundbreaking work, to be taken seriously for even higher promises. Populous, Syndicate, Theme Park, Dungeon Keeper, Black & White, Fable - all genuinely impressive titles only marred by his tendency to overhype.
There's a reason skeptics care enough to say "oh, him?" when he says he's got another big idea.
edit: Though they are right to dismiss any promise he makes.
Sounds like the comparison with religion is apt als religion is also lies by conmen.
