A place to meme about the glorious ROMAN EMPIRE (and Roman Republic, and Roman Kingdom)! Byzantines tolerated! The HRE is not.

Hmm, arguably there should be a more direct path to the Papal States. The church had land throughout the migration period, although I don't know enough to say if there was a period where none of it was sovereign.

Anyway, it's clearly East Timor. Or maybe Nero is still alive in Antarctica. /s
