Can we discuss why Everett displays reverse eyes? What predator does he need to scare off?

Shit, I shouldn't comment blasted out of my mind.

The buttons on the back of his overcoat, with their placement, reminded me of animals that use a fake "face" to appear larger, like spots on the wings.
