But did the European part of Russia colonise the Asian part or the other way around?
Today's Russia east of the Urals was colonized by Eastern European nobility.
Asia -> Europe first, but then Europe -> Asia, and finders keepers.
I mean, all of Europe saw population replacement when Middle Eastern farmers and then much later Indo-European steppe horsemen showed up, if we want to go way back.
