With Skyrim you just use Steam to install SKSE, then go to the workshop and download the mods you want. and Steam will do the rest for you.
There are mods not available on Steam.
True but to be honest. This is the maximum amount of work for installing mods I can fucked to do.
There are one-click modpack install options.
You're missing out greatly then because most good mods won't be on the workshop at all.
