Yesterday, my 20ish open tabs acted as normal.

The X to close a tab was only present on the active open tab, with the rest not displaying it.

Today, after I updated Firefox Nightly to Version 119.0a1 (2023-08-30) (64-bit), it reopened and now there is no X to close even the active open tab.

I can't find any setting that controls this, no idea how it happened, but right clicking to close a tab is very cumbersome. Anyone know how to restore the X to close tabs like normal?

UPDATE: I ran Mozregression to see if I could pinpoint the time that this change was made, and it looks like something between August 28th and August 29th builds was when it occurred.

I'm unsure of what to do here. I went to the link it gave but I don't think any help is there.

Should I revert to August 28th Nightly while I wait for this to be fixed? Or is this just how the design is now?

Here is a picture that better illustrates the change

Firefox Desktop front-end engineer here.

This is a bug caused by a refactor / code cleanup. The bug that caused the regression is here: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1849904

We've found the issue and spun up new Nightly builds which should be out ~~soon~~ now.

Thank you so much! Just updated my browser now, and it's back to normal

I was honestly so freaked out because Firefox is one of the few good products I have faith in still, and was worried it was a design choice somehow
