The events unfolding right now are proof. The last I looked, the Lemmy instance isn't even advertised on the web site. It seems like an afterthought. There are a reasonably large number of people on this instance now, and things like this are bound to happen from time to time. I really do love the mission of SDF as an org, which is why I choose to put the stuff I make here. However, literal Nazi disinformation campaigns should not even have the chance to happen. We need an admin that is more accessible, maybe a second for off hours. I don't know. But if things like this can happen as is, it may be a reasonable case to shut the instance down. That is unreasonable, I know, but I am very angry right now.
Unfortunately, other instances may need to defederate from this one to solve the issue. Hope it doesn't come to that, of course, but in the mean time, yes, bringing attention to the issue is definitely a good move, no matter the outcome.
