Oh I agree 100%.

It's the old trope of 'no time to explain, trust me'.

I do think they're trying to setup how Mark is hellbent on being a 180° opposite of his dad, and that's the driving factor behind his decisions.

I have the comic books in compendium format...should probably read them at some point for context.
