The internet is full of these obscure micro-cultures. The themes are different, but everything else is the same, comprised of the same type of person/mind.

Insecurities are easy pickings, just make them feel belonging and they'll be washed in no time. But make sure you empower them to identify that it's not them who are weak, it's "everyone else." That way when they're challenged, they lash out and are rewarded with more sense of belonging; get to a self-sustaining level.

None of us are Russian bots, the admins of any instance would notice. Hell HB wasn't even federated for 4 years. Do you think Russia was running a bot farm that wasn't connected to anyone outside of the farm?

But liberals find it easier to accuse anyone to their left of being a bot than question their own views.

Your claim was that that person talked about Russian bots out of nowhere while it was the third comment in a chain that at least mentioned Russian bots.

A: they are all Russian bots
B: not all of them are Russian bots
C: none of us are Russian bots
U: Why is C talking about Russian bots out of nowhere? Where is this coming from? It's not in the meme and I don't understand the concept of comments that refer to other comments while write one myself.

To clarify, there is no actual lemmy.ru, OP added it in to imply the other instances are Russian ops. The common narrative libs on lemmy use is that they're russian bots.

You're not opposing western imperialism while supporting their war.

This obviously doesn't apply to people living in Russia, who should oppose their government's actions.

Do you genuinely believe that we are acting in the interests of the Ukrainian people, unlike literally every single military action we've taken since WWII? When we were bombing Syria and arming ISIS and Al Nusra to "liberate" Syria (and stealing their oil and crops), did you think that was for the good of the Syrians? When we bombed Libya to oust that evil dictator Ghaddafi, did you think that was good for the Libyans? When we bombed Yemen to oust the Houthi's, did you think that was in the interests of the Yemeni people? Do you think the Iraqi people are better off today than they would have been if we didn't invade them twice and cause over a million premature deaths, mostly of children simply due to sanctions? I haven't even gotten to the 90s yet. Hell this isn't even exhaustive for the 2000s.

I don't get how you took my "I oppose western imperialism" to mean that I support western imperialism. I'm not supporting those wars. Where do you even take that from? I went to protests against the Iraq invasion 2 decades ago. Did you?

I get the sentiment that it's more important to oppose one's own government but this should lead to supporting other governments. It's possible to oppose both.
