What kind of asshole celebrates mass layoffs? What the fuck
The ones being monkeybrained into celebrating 'poetic justice' for those they have been trained to perceive as entitled for making $70 games not worth it while being smug about an artistic vision and a 'reality of the industry' these dissatisfied customers supposedly don't get. It's the same vitriolic nonsense on social media as we see in politics. People's perspective being pitted against each other without actually facilitated communication.
Yeah, I figure as much. Gross gross gross
Morons and children.
Coal mine workers with schadenfreude who were ridiculed by code monkeys who though they were too smart to be replaced.
*narrator They were replaced
For the record, I don't agree with celebrating layoffs, I think they should direct their anger at C level actors. Nevertheless, I can understand why they react thusly, all these code monkeys have been prescribing the rest of the population how to live and how to pull themselves by the bootstraps and now find themselves in a bearish market. Before, anyone who could print "hello world" would be hired to deprive competitors of labour (see the explosion in compensation for CS jobs vs i.e. agriculture and services) now that is gone. Worst of all, that is the cadre of people that helped the C level cunts suck immense wealth from the lower class and middle class to the 1%. So ye, fucking unionise and welcome to the blue collar world, we're with you, we'll help you, but you fucking enabled every one who put you in this situation.
I'm a "code monkey" and never once expected anyone to pull themselves up by their bootstraps. You seem jaded at the c suite and taking it out on hypothetical devs.
I have no doubts that there is a good portion of people who work programming jobs who are also assholes, but am I in a bubble or something? Why would your average dev ridicule a coal miner? Miners work fucking hardcore jobs and deserve every penny of compensation and then some.
Have you interacted with any bougie SV dev lately?
Edit: This shit was the goto motto for every code bro within a 10 mile radius of the valley.
And I'm glad you have the empathy to recognise that although the coal industry was a pox upon the environment the people working in coal mines have a harrowing job and deserve fair compensation. (as do every other professionals that do honest work)
I try not to - bougie SV devs are bougie and SV :P
I know m8.
I thought empathy was an evolutionary trait, turns out it's a skill, and some peeps (geographically around the valley) have evolutionary advantage by letting it wane. Set a wall centered on Philz (fuck Forbes for making it hip for the bros) and barricade up to a 10 mile radius. Solve half of earth's problems.
